Academic Progress

It is a requirement of EQI for Varsity College to monitor, record and assess the course progress of each International student for each school term in accordance with EQI’s documented course progress policies and procedures.

International Students are notified at their initial orientation at Varsity College that visa obligations require the student is to achieve a satisfactory rate of progress each term.

EQI has a documented intervention strategy available to staff and students, nominating procedures to recognise and assist students at risk of not meeting course progress requirements

Varsity College utilises these strategies to assist the student’s that are recognised to be in this category or at risk of failing multiple subjects.

Varsity College advises EQI of their recommendations if student is not meeting satisfactory course progress and provides an outline of intervention strategy.

Varsity College issues warning letters to students, parents/guardian, authorised agent and EQI so that all parties are aware.

If student continues to fail subjects Varsity College will advise EQI and follow the process outlined in the EQI Policy and Procedures for Monitoring Progress for International Students.
