The ASPIRE Cultural program caters for students from Year 7 who have a passion and specific interest in one or more arts disciplines: Drama, Music, Art & Media and Media/Film.

The program provides opportunities for students to engage in developing explicit skills in their chosen arts discipline and cultivate their higher order thinking. ASPIRE Cultural students will also participate in workshops with professional artists, theatre and/or gallery trips, exhibitions, eisteddfods and/or competitions.

To be accepted into the ASPIRE Cultural program an application and audition process will be undertaken specific to each of the arts disciplines.


Years 7 and 8 Creative Arts Electives

ASPIRE Drama

  • Focuses on developing skills for making and responding to works of art created using human movement and voice as the primary means of communication (Drama).

  • ASPIRE Drama students develop their skills of drama (acting, devising, directing and scriptwriting) and build their understanding of the dramatic languages required for further study in Drama.

ASPIRE Music

  • Focuses on developing skills for making and responding to works of art created using sound as the primary means of communication (Music).
  • ASPIRE Music students develop performance, composition and their theory and aural skills that lead into musicology skills required further music study.

ASPIRE Art & Media

  • Focuses on developing skills for making and responding to works of art created using imagery and objects as the primary means of communication (Art and Media).
  • ASPIRE Art & Media students develop their skills across 2D, 3D and digital art mediums with a specific focus on using visual language to articulate ideas and meaning through artworks.

Years 9 & 10 Creative Arts Electives

  • Multimedia / Film & Television
  • Music

In addition to the extension of skills within the curriculum, ASPIRE Cultural students will have the opportunity to participate in one or more of the Creative Arts Co-Curricular, Extra-Curricular opportunities.
