ASPIRE Academic

The Varsity College Primary ASPIRE Academic program aims to develop and extend student knowledge and thinking within a challenging and rigorous environment. Guided by experienced teachers, students investigate global concepts via a skills based curriculum.

The classroom environment encourages an increased learning pace which allows time for lateral extension of topics. Students have the opportunity to work with like-minded students while developing the skills of communicating, reasoning, problem solving and risk taking. Students also have opportunities to participate in competitions as well as curriculum specific excursions.

The Aspire Academic program is an invitation only program for Year 5 and 6 students.

Athlete Development

The Varsity College Primary ASPIRE Athlete Development program caters for students who display passion, enthusiasm and talent for sport. The program aims to develop speed, agility, aerobic endurance, anaerobic capacity and co-ordination through training programs developed by experienced staff and professionals. Students build knowledge in the area of health and nutrition.

The program is designed to instil respect, responsibility, leadership and sportsmanship in our athletes. Students are offered opportunities to be challenged beyond the Physical Education curriculum through specialized training programs and workshops.

The Varsity College Primary Aspire Athlete Development program is a selective program for Years 5 & 6.

ASPIRE Chinese

The Varsity College Senior Primary ASPIRE Chinese program caters for students who demonstrate a high level of knowledge of the Chinese language. These students have a love for learning languages.

The program aims to focus on learning to communicate through spoken and written Chinese. Students will communicate with native speakers and notice the similarities and differences between Chinese language and culture and their own.

The Varsity College Primary Aspire Chinese program is a selective program for Years 4-6.

ASPIRE Drama

The Varsity College Senior Primary ASPIRE Drama program caters for students who display high ability and passion in the area of drama. The program develops and extends the skills, techniques and processes of these students through a practical exploration of drama conventions under the guidance and mentoring of our trained staff.

Students create, perform, analyse and respond to drama. They work collaboratively with their peers, mentor teachers and industry experts. Students are offered opportunities to be challenged beyond the classroom drama curriculum through workshops, excursions, competitions and performances.

The Varsity College Primary Aspire Drama program is a selective program for Years 4-6.

ASPIRE Music

The Varsity College Primary ASPIRE Music program caters for our talented musicians. The program is designed to extend the knowledge and understanding of music theory by focusing on the three areas of performance, composition and analysis.

Students develop confidence and ability to present solo performances under the guidance of our experienced staff and industry mentors. They are offered opportunities to attend workshops and excursions.

The Varsity College Primary Aspire Music program is a selective program for Years 4-6.

ASPIRE Robotics

The Varsity College Senior Primary ASPIRE Robotics program caters for students who demonstrate a deep knowledge and understanding of information systems and practices.

The program aims to foster curiosity, confidence, persistence, innovation, creativity and co-operation through authentic learning challenges using contemporary and emerging digital technology. Students work collaboratively with their peers, mentor teachers and industry experts in areas such as coding, robotics and programming. This cutting edge program develops 21st century digital learners who use design thinking and innovative practices.

The Varsity College Primary Aspire Robotics program is a selective program for Years 4-6. Students must submit an application form online and upload a self-created 'digital scratch coding creation'. Short listed students will need to attend a workshop with a panel of experienced teachers.

ASPIRE Visual Arts & Design Program

The Varsity College Primary ASPIRE Visual Arts and Design Program caters for students who are artistically minded and demonstrate high ability and passion in the area of visual arts.

The program develops and extends student skills in the creation and analysis of art work. Students explore and experiment with painting, drawing, sculpture and textiles under the guidance and mentoring of trained staff. They are offered opportunities to display their art work, attend workshops, visit galleries and work with industry professionals.

The Varsity College Primary Aspire Visual Arts and Design program is a selective program for Years 4-6.
